Ways to Give

Cash Gifts & Pledges

Cash gifts and multi-year cash pledges are the most common forms of offering major gifts. The payment period for cash pledges is usually five years or less. One time cash gifts are also welcomed and can be done through an online contribution to the Institute. Please use the online contribution form to submit your donation.

Gifts of Equipment

Gifts of equipment and other tangible property generally qualify for charitable contribution deductions at their full market value.

Securities

Giving appreciated stock in publicly traded companies provides donors with attractive tax benefits. Donors can deduct the full fair market value of all appreciated securities held long-term, thus avoiding any capital gains tax that would have to be paid if the stocks were sold.

Planned Gifts

Charitable gifts as part of an estate or retirement assests, may be transferred in trust to the IT2 Institute in return for income for life. Donors receive immediate tax benefits and ultimately the College receives the trust property.

Bequests

In writing a will or living trust, donors can identify IT2Institute as a beneficiary of an estate.

Leave a Legacy

Contributions made in the name of an individual or family creates a perpetual benefit for the donor.

Major Gift Campaign

IT2 is preparing for a Major Gift Campaign to raise necessary funds for the construction of the permanent facility and to create Endowments to perpetuate a continuous stream of revenue for the Institutes programs.

Endowment Matching Program

Gifts of $100,000 or more can be leveraged dramatically through FIU's participation in the most innovative higher education matching gift program in the nation. The State of Florida Trust Fund for Major Gifts provides state matching funds for all gifts of $100,000 or more for an endowment that supports the University's teaching and research programs, scholarships, fellowships, and libraries. In some cases, gifts of less that $100,000 may qualify if they are combined with other gifts for the same purpose and the combined total of all gifts reaches $100,000.

Naming Opportunities

College and schools may be named to recognize individuals who have attained achievements of extraordinary and lasting distinction and who have made a significant contribution to the State or the University. Our fundraising campaign will seek to name classrooms, the conference rooms, labs, lecture halls and other facilities.
