Wireless Communication is enjoying its fastest growth period in history, due to enabling technologies which permit widespread deployment. With the development of highly reliable, miniature, solid-state radio frequency hardware in the 1970s, the wireless communications era was born. The recent exponential growth in cellular radio and personal communication systems throughout the world is directly attributable to new technologies from 1970s.

The future growth of consumer-based mobile and portable communication systems will be tied more closely to radio spectrum allocations and regulatory decisions which affect or support new or extended services, as well as to consumer needs and technology advances in the signal processing, access, and network areas.

Selected Projects

An innovative approach and develop a new framework for power related routing in Ad Hoc wireless networks, which takes into account not only intermediate nodes' well-being and also the service priority:
  • Task 1: Implement routing algorithm
  • Task 2: Develop the price model for intermediate node
  • Task 3: Examine variable utility functions
  • Task 4: Determine the power lever to relay the packet
  • Task 5: Update the routing path automatically
  • Task 6: Build a emulation environment

Resource allocation in wireless CDMA Network:

  • Task 1: Maximize the total system throughput by power control in Wireless CDMA network with soft handoff
  • Task 2: Research on Pricing Scheme in CDMA networks
